The Christmas tree plant (Kalanchoe laciniata) belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an evergreen herb that is distributed from the Arabian Peninsula to Eritrea, the Middle East, and parts of India and Sri Lanka. It grows in subtropical areas and is 90 to 120 cm tall. The leaves are fleshy, ovate to elliptic, opposite, and deeply lobed pinnately. Yellow flowers appear in inflorescences at the top of stems from early to late summer.
