マダガスカル島が原産です。よく分枝して、高さは30センチほどになります。葉は楕円形で鈍鋸歯があり、縁が大きく波打ちます。茎の先から花茎を伸ばして、オレンジ色の花を下垂して咲かせます。園芸上は「こちょうのまい(胡蝶の舞)」と呼ばれています。 
ベンケイソウ科リュウキュウベンケイ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Kalanchoe laxiflora。英名はありません。 
The Kalanchoe laxiflora belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to Madagascar. It is well branched and grows to a height of about 30 cm. The leaves are elliptic and bluntly serrated with large wavy margins. Flower stalks grow from the tips of the stems and produce drooping orange flowers. Horticulturally, it is called "Kocho-no-Mai" (butterfly's dance) in Japan.
