Kalanchoe miniata belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to central Madagascar. This herb initially prostrates and is later upright, can reach a height of 30-80 cm. The leaves are rounded triangular and 2.5-8 cm long, with red spots on the upper side. The flowers are bell-shaped, up to 2.5 cm long, and pendulous. The corolla is bright red with yellow or orange tips.
