ナデシコ科ナデシコ属の多年草で、学名は Dianthus superbus var. longicalycinus。英名は Fringed pink。
The Fringed pink (Dianthus superbus var. longicalycinus) belongs to Caryophyllaceae (the Carnation family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Japan, as well as Taiwan, the Korean Peninsula and China. This herb grows in sunny grasslands and riverbeds, and can reach 30-80 cm in height. The leaves are linear to lanceolate and enfold stems. The pale magenta flowers appear from July to October. The petals are devided into fine filiform lobes. In Taiwanese Chinese, it is called "長萼瞿麥", and "瞿麦" (qu mai) in Chinese.
