ヨーロッパの南部に分布しています。草地や畑の縁などに生え、高さは６０〜９０センチになります。茎は柔らかな毛に被われます。葉は掌状複葉で、倒披針形から倒卵形の小葉が５〜１１個つき、両面には柔らかな毛が生えています。晩春に総状花序をだし、青色の蝶形花を咲かせます。別名で「かさざきルピナス（傘咲きルピナス）」とも呼ばれます。

マメ科ルピナス属の一年草で、学名は Lupinus hirsutus。英名はありません。

Lupinus hirsutus belongs to Fabaceae (the Pea family). It is an annual herb that is native to southern Europe. This herb grows in grasslands and field margins, and can reach 60-90 cm in height. The stems are densely villous. The leaves are palmate compound with 5-11 oblanceolate to obovate leaflets and softly villous on both surfaces. The racemes are borne and bloom blue papilionaceous flowers in late spring.
