わが国の本州から四国・九州に分布しています。主に海岸の近くに生え、高さは１０〜３０センチになります。「かたばみ」は葉の縁に毛がありますが、表面は無毛です。ですが、この種は葉の表面にも密な毛があります。また茎にも毛が密生します。黄色い花を５月から９月に咲かせます。

The hairy yellow sorrel (Oxalis corniculata var. trichocaulon) belongs to Oxalidaceae (the Wood sorrel family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed to Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu of Japan. This herb grows mainly near the coast and is 10 to 30 cm high. The yellow sorrel has hairs on the edge of leaves but the surface is hairless, though this species has dense hairs on the surface of leaves. In addition, it has dense hairs on the stem. The yellow flowers come from May to September.
