アメリカの南東部に分布しています。分枝しない幹があり、高さは１．８メートルほどになります。葉は青緑色で反曲し、長さは４５〜９０センチになります。５月から６月と１０月から１１月ごろ、大きな花序をだし、白色の花を咲かせます。「主なる神のろうそく」とも呼ばれます。

リュウゼツラン科イトラン属の常緑低木で、学名は Yucca recurvifolia (syn. Yucca gloriosa var. tristis)。英名は Curveleaf yucca。

The curveleaf yucca (Yucca recurvifolia) belongs to Agavaceae (the Agave family). It is a small evergreen tree that is native to the southeastern United States. This tree has unbranched trunk and it can reach about 1.8 m in height. The leaves are recurved, bluish green, 45-90 cm long. The large clusters are borne and bloom white flowers from May to June and from October to November. It is also called "Our load's candle".
