The "Kinmou-inode" (Ctenitis lepigera) belongs to the family Dryopteridaceae. It is an evergreen fern that is distributed in Japan's Ogasawara Islands and Micronesia. It grows in mountainous areas, reaching a height of 80 to 120 cm. The leaves are bipinnate compound, with leaf blades 40 to 70 cm long. The lowest pinna is the largest, shaped like a rounded triangle. The numerous scales at the base of the stipe are yellowish-brown to brown. The sorus are slightly separated from the midrib, and the indisum is irregularly circular.
