"Kibana-noji-giku" (Chrysanthemum occidentali-japonense) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is a yellow-flowered variety of "Noji-giku" (Chrysanthemum occidentali-japonense), which is distributed to along the Seto Inland Sea coast west of Hyogo Prefecture, the Pacific coast of Shikoku, and the Seto Inland Sea and Pacific coast of Kyushu in Japan. It grows on slopes along the coast and is 60 to 90 cm tall. The leaves are broadly ovate and split into five lobes. Pale yellow flower heads, 30 to 55 mm in diameter, bloom at the tops of stems and leaf axils from October to December.
