わが国の各地に分布しています。低山帯から亜高山帯の林縁や草地に生え、高さは３０〜７０センチほどになります。「やまおだまき」の黄花品種で、萼片まで黄色です。根生葉は２回３出複葉で、小葉は２〜３裂し、長い葉柄があります。６月から８月ごろ、小さなシャンデリアのように透きとおった黄色い花を咲かせます。

キンポウゲ科オダマキ属の多年草で、学名は Aquilegia buergeriana f. flavescens。英名はありません。

The "Kibanano-yama-odamaki" (Aquilegia buergeriana f. flavescens) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Japan. This herb occurs in montane to sub-alpine forest edges and grasslands, and can reach 30-70 cm in height. The basal leaves are biternate-pinnate and the leaflets are bilobate to trilobate with long petioles. The translucent yellow flowers appear from June to August.
