The China rose (Rosa chinensis) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to southwestern China, Guizhou, Hubei, and Sichuan Provinces. The species is extensively cultivated in China as an ornamental plant. This shrub can reach 1-2 m in height. The leaves are odd-pinnate compound with elliptic leaflets. The flower is everblooming, pink to res, single-flowered variety. The numerous cultivars have been selected. The photos are a cultivar 'Mutabilis'.
