こだからそう (子宝草) [Index] [Back] 「こちょうのまい（胡蝶の舞）」と「こだからべんけい（子宝弁慶）」との交配種です。茎は直立して分枝せず、高さは１メートルほどになります。葉は長三角形で肉厚､先端は少し丸みを帯びます。葉の周縁の鋸歯の先端に不定芽が着き、これから新しい株ができます。また冬には茎頂より花茎を伸ばし､淡桃色の花が咲かせます｡花は筒状花で、雄しべや雌しべが花冠から突き出します。  ベンケイソウ科リュウキュウベンケイ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Kalanchoe x crenatodaigremontianum。英名は Mother of millions。  The mother of millions (Kalanchoe x crenatodaigremontianum) belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is a cross between Kalanchoe laxiflora (syn. Kalanchoe crenatum) and Kalanchoe daigremontianum. The stem is erect, unbranched and can reach about 1 m in height. The leaves are long-deltoid with roundish tips. It produces many plantlets on the edges of the leaves. They breed new plants when dropped on the ground. The flowering stalk grows up atop of the stem and bloom pale pink flowers in winter.
