	わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島や台湾、中国に分布しています。日当りのよい林縁などに生え、高さは１～２メートルになります。葉は三角状広卵形で互生し、縁には重鋸歯があります。５月から６月ごろ、円錐状または散房状の花序をだし、小さな白色の花を咲かせます。むかしは、枝を束ねて箒を作ったそうです。
	バラ科コゴメウツギ属の落葉小低木で、学名は Stephanandra incisa。英名は Lace shrub。
	The Lace shrub (Stephanandra incisa) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a deciduous shrub that is distributed to Japan, as well as the Korean Peninsula, Taiwan and China. This tree grows in outskirt of forests and can reach 1-2 m in height. The leaves are triangular-broad-ovate and alternate with duplicato-serratus edges. The paniculate to corymbose clusters are borne and bloom small white flowers from May to June. This tree was used for broom of twigs in former days.
