"Komurasaki-shimeji" (Lepista sordida) belongs to the family Tricholomataceae. It is a mushroom that is native all over Japan, as well as widely in the Northen Hemisphere. This mushroom grows in low mountain forests, fields and roadsides, and its stem can reach 4-6 cm in height. The cap is smooth surface, pale purple to lilac pink or pink, and 4-8 cm across. The gills are sinuate, crowded, and initially greyish lilac fading to buff with age. This mushroom is edible.
