こめばつがざくら (米葉栂桜)

わが国の本州、中部地方以北から北海道それに千島列島やロシアの極東地方に分布しています。高山の岩礫地などに生え、高さは５〜１５センチほどになります。葉は楕円形から卵形で厚く、３個ずつ輪生します。６月から８月ごろ、枝先に壺形の小さな花を咲かせます。花は白色でわずかに淡紅色を帯び、ふつう３個ずつを下向きにつけます。 |

ツツジ科コメバツガザクラ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Arcterica nana。英名はありません。 |

"Komeba-tsuga-zakura" (Arcterica nana) belongs to Ericaceae (the Azalea family). It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed from Chubu district of Honshu north to Hokkaido in Japan, the Kuril Islands and the Far East of Russia. This herb grows on rocky sites in high mountains, and up to a height of 5-15 cm. The leaves are elliptic to ovate, thick and arranged in whorls of 3 crowded. The small, rose-shaped flowers bloom at the end of the branch from June to August. The flowers are white and slightly pink, usually downward in threes. |
