わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島から東アジア、北アジアに分布しています。山地の林内に生え、高さは１０〜２０センチになります。偽球茎は球形で、広卵形の葉が２個つきます。葉の縁は細かく波打ちます。６月から８月ごろ、花茎を伸ばして総状花序をつけ、淡緑色または黒褐色の花を咲かせます。萼片と側花弁は細い筒状です。

ラン科クモキリソウ属の多年草で、学名は Liparis kumokiri。英名はありません。

"Kumokiri-so" (Liparis kumokiri) belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed to various parts of Japan, as well as the Korean Peninsula to East Asia and North Asia. This herb grows in mountain forests and can reach 10 to 20 cm in height. The pseudobulb is spherical and has two broad-ovate leaves. The edges of the leaves are finely wavy. The flower stalks are stretched to form racemes and bloom pale green or dark brown flowers from June to August. The calyx and lateral petals are thin tubular.
