アメリカの西南部およびメキシコ北部に分布しています。砂礫地に生えて、高さは２５〜４０センチになり、しばしば群落を形成します。葉は細長く、下部の葉には浅い鋸歯があります。８月から１１月ごろ、黄色い花を咲かせます。

キク科マカエランテラ属の一年草で、学名は Machaeranthera gracilis。英名は Slender goldenweed。

|
The slender goldenweed (Machaeranthera gracilis) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an annual herb that is distributed to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. This herb grows in sandy gravel areas, up to a height of 25-40 cm, and often in large clump. The leaves are slender and the lower leaves have low toothed edges. The yellow flowers bloom from August to November.
