スミレ科スミレ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Viola violacea var. makinoi。英名はありません。
The "Makino-sumire" (Viola violacea var. makinoi) belongs to Violaceae (the Viola family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to Honshu in Japan, from Tohoku district south to Kinki district. This is a variety "Viola violacea". This herb grows in sunny places and can reach 5-8 cm in height. The leaves are triangular-lanceolate and close to erect. The deep purple flowers come in March to May. The lateral petals are hairless at the bases.
