The "Mame-zuta-kazura" (Dischidia formosana) belongs to belongs to Apocynaceae (the Dogbane family). It is an evergreen woody vine that is distributed to Uotsuri Island in the Senkaku Islands of Japan, Taiwan, and southern China. This herb grows in thickets at low to medium elevations, and up to about 3 m long. The leaves are opposite, fleshy, orbicular or obovate, 1-2 cm long. The flowers are small, white, axillary, and bloom solitary or 3-5 in fascicles from April to May. In Taiwanese Mandarin, it is called "風不動".
