The feather cactus (Mammillaria plumosa) belongs to Cactaceae (the Cactus family). It is an evergreen perennial herbacious plant that is distributed Nuevo Leon and Coahuila, in north Mexico. This cacti grows in arid areas and form clumps or low mounds. Stems are globose, light green, 6-7 cm high and in diameter. Central spine is absent, radial spines are about 40, white and plumose. Flowers are 1.5 cm in diameter, white to pale whitish-yellow.
