The "Mamushi-yabu-sotetsu" (Cyrtomium sp.) belongs to the family Dryopteridaceae. It is an evergreen fern that is an interspecific hybrid between the "Nagaba-yabu-sotetsu" (Cyrtomium devexiscapulae) and the "Yama-yabu-sotetsu" (Cyrtomium fortunei var. clivicola). It grows rarely in the forest floor and forest margins of mountainous areas. The leaves are pinnate compound, yellowish-green, slightly glossy, and thick and leathery. There are around 10 pairs of lateral pinnae. There are brown scales at the base of the petiole. The sorus is round, and the indisum is grayish-white, sometimes with a slightly black center. This species is a pentaploid species with apogamy.
