The Mammillaria voburnensis belongs to Cactaceae (the Cactus family). It is an evergreen wart cactus that is distributed from Chiapas in southern Mexico to Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. It grows in rocky gravel in cloud forests and dry forests and is 15 to 30 cm tall. The stem is cylindrical, yellow-green, and 4 to 7 cm thick. The wart axils are densely covered with yellow wooly hairs and have 5-6 long, white bristles. The ribs have one central spine and six to eight marginal spines. The flowers are about 2 cm in diameter and reddish yellow. The specific epithet is after Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire, England.
