マネッティア・インフラータ (粗毛火焔草)

パラグアイからウルグアイが原産です。蔓性で１．２メートルほどまでよじ登ります。葉は小さな卵形で、毎年新しくなります。夏に香りのある小さな花を咲かせます。赤色の筒状花は先端が黄色、ベルベットのような毛に被われています。和名では「あらげかえんそう（粗毛火焔草）」と呼ばれます。 |

The Firecracker vine (Manettia inflata) belongs to Rubiaceae (the Madder family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to Paraguay and Uruguay. It is a climbing vine, reaching up to 1.2 m. The leaves are small, ovate, and new ones are produced every year. It produces small, fragrant flowers in summer. The red tubular flowers have yellow tips and are covered with velvety hairs. It is called "粗毛火焔草" (coarse-haired flame grass) in Japanese. |
