コロンビアからエクアドルが原産です。高さは２〜３メートルほどになります。葉は淡い緑色の卵形で、表面に綿毛が生えています。春から秋にかけて、鮮やかな黄橙色の花を咲かせます。別名で「オレンジマーマレード」とも呼ばれます。

ナス科ストレプトソレン属の常緑小低木で、学名は Streptosolen jamesonii。英名は Marmalade bush、Orange browallia。

|
The Marmalade bush (Streptosolen jamesonii) belongs to Solanaceae (the Nightshade family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to Colombia to Ecuador. It grows to a height of 2 to 3 m. The leaves are pale green and ovate with wooly hairs on the surface. It produces bright yellow-orange flowers from spring to fall. It is also known as "Orange marmalade".
