The Spear head (x Senecurio kleiniiformis) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennilal herb that is distributed in South Africa. Growing in dry areas, it is succulent and reaches a height of 30 to 80 cm. It is currently considered a hybrid between an unidentified species of the genus Curio and Senecio tropaeolifolius. The leaves are arrowhead-shaped, gray-green, and have long stipes. From fall to winter, it extends slender scapes and produces very small flower heads. The flower heads are pale yellow and contain only tubular flowers. Although the new genus Senecurio was created in 2020 specifically for this hybrid, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew's Plants of the World Online lists Senecio x kleiniiformis as an Unplaced name.
