アメリカの西南部からメキシコに分布しています。石灰岩質の砂礫地に生え、岩壁から垂れ下がったり、潅木によじ登ったりしています。葉はほとんど三角形で、３裂しています。３月から９月ごろ、藤色から紫色の筒状花を咲かせます。咽は、クリームイエローをしています。

ゴマノハグサ科マウランディア属の多年草で、学名は Maurandya antirrhiniflora。英名は Snapdragon vine。

The Snapdragon vine (Maurandya antirrhiniflora) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is found from the southwestern United States to Mexico. It grows in limestone sandy gravel, hanging from rock walls or climbing shrubs. The leaves are mostly triangular with three lobes, and the mauve to purple tubular flowers bloom from March to September. The throat is a creamy yellow color.
