メキシコが原産です。蔓性で長さは２〜３メートルになります。葉は卵形から三角状で、縁には鋸歯があります。葉や萼片は、腺毛に被われます。夏から秋にかけて、「ジキタリス」に似たピンク色の花を咲かせます。温暖な地域以外では、冬に枯死してしまいます。

ゴマノハグサ科マウランディア属の多年草で、学名は Maurandya erubescens。(syn. Lophospermum erubescens、Asarina erubescens) 英名は Creeping gloxinia、Maurandia erubescens。

The Creeping gloxinia (Maurandya erubescens) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Mexico. This is a vine and can reach 2-3 m long. The leaves are ovate to deltoid with toothed edges. The leaves and calyx lobes are covered with glandular hairs. The pink flowers are like a foxglove and appear from summer to fall. It dies back in winter except in the warm temperate areas.
