わが国の北海道にある、雌阿寒岳と知床山地それに択捉島に分布しています。高山帯の砂礫地に生え、高さは５〜１５センチになります。葉は広卵形で対生し、先端は尖ります。葉には両面に短毛があります。７月から８月ごろ、茎頂や上部の葉腋に、直径１センチほどの白色の花を咲かせます。

ナデシコ科ノミノツヅリ属の多年草で、学名は Arenaria merckioides。英名はありません。

|
"Meakan-fusuma" (Arenaria merckioides) belongs to Caryophyllaceae (the Carnation family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Mt. Meakan, Shiretoko Mountains in Hokkaido, and Iturup Island in Japan. This herb grows on alpine screes and can reach 5-15 cm in height. The leaves are broad ovate with acute tips, and arranged in opposite. The leaves have short hairs on the both sides. The white, about 1 cm across flowers bloom on the stem apices or upper axils from July to August.
