メキシコからグアテマラにかけて分布しています。熱帯・亜熱帯性の小低木で、高さは５０〜６０センチほど。小枝が横に広がります。花期は６月から１１月。温度さえあれば周年でも開花します。花は小さくて赤紫色です。写真中３、中１１、中１５・下は、園芸品種の「アルバ（cv. Alba）」。 |

ミソハギ科クフェア属の常緑小低木で、学名は Cuphea hyssopifolia。英名は Mexican false heather。 |

The Mexican false heather (Cuphea hyssopifolia) belongs to Lythraceae (the Loosestrife family). It is an evergreen subshrub that is native from Mexico to Guatemala. This subshrub grows in tropical and semi-tropical areas and can reach 50-60 cm in height. Twigs spread widely. Small magenta flowers come from June to November, and can bloom through the year if the temperature available. The 4th, 12th, 16th and bottom photos are of the horticultural variety 'Alba'. |
