アメリカの西部に分布しています。乾燥した砂礫地の斜面や草地に生え、高さは１５〜４５センチになります。３月から１０月ごろ、直径２．５センチくらいの白い頭花を咲かせます。 |

キク科メランポジウム属の多年草で、学名は Melampodium leucanthum。英名は Arnica、Plains blackfoot。 |

The Arnica (Melampodium leucanthum) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in the western part of the United States. It grows on dry sandy-gravel slopes and grassy areas and grows 15 to 45 cm tall. It produces white head flowers about 2.5 cm in diameter from March to October. |
