メロカクツス・ネルイ (層雲)

ブラジルからベネズエラ、スリナムに分布しています。多肉質の扁球形で単独に生え、高さは１８センチ、直径２０センチほどになります。花は直径１センチほどの薄紫色で、花座のうえに咲きます。園芸上は「そううん（層雲）」あるいは「けんうん（巻雲）」と呼ばれます。 |

サボテン科メロカクツス属の球形サボテンで、学名は Melocactus neryi（syn. Melocactus amoenus）。英名はありません。 |

Melocactus neryi belongs to Cactaceae (the Cactus family). It is an evergreen succulent perennial that is native to Brazil, Venezuela and Suriname. This cactus is solitary and oblate, up to 18 cm in height, 20cm in diameter. Flowers are lilac, about 1 cm in diameter on the cephalium. |
