わが国の本州、中部地方南部に分布しています。「こばいけいそう」の変種で、氷河期の遺存植物です。低地の湿地に生え、高さは１メートルほどになります。葉は楕円形から長楕円形で、「こばいけいそう」よりは長く、裏面は短毛に被われます。４月から５月ごろ、茎頂の複総状花序に、白色の花を咲かせます。

ユリ科シュロソウ属の多年草で、学名は Veratrum stamineum var. micranthum。英名はありません。

"Mikawa-baikei-so" (Veratrum stamineum var. micranthum) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to southern Chubu district of Honshu in Japan. It is a variety of the "Ko-baikei-so" (Veratrum stamineum) and a relict plant of glacial age. This herb grows in marshes of low lands, and it can reach about 1 m in height. The leaves are elliptic to oblong, longer than the "Ko-baikei-so", and covered with short hairs on abaxial sides. The white flowers bloom in the apical compoud racemes from April to May.
