ミケーリア・マウディアエ (深山含笑) [Index] [Back] 中国の南東部、湖南省から浙江省にかけて分布しています。林内に生え、高さは２０メートルほどになります。葉は革質で、長楕円形から倒卵状楕円形です。２月ごろ、芳香のある純白色の「もくれん」に似た花を咲かせます。花冠は直径１０センチほど、９個の花披片があります。 ３個の外花披片は倒卵形、６個の内花披片は比較的狭く、小さいものです。中国名では「深山含笑」と呼ばれます。 モクレン科オガタマノキ属の常緑高木で、学名は Michelia maudiae。英名は Maud's michelia。 The Maud's michelia (Michelia maudiae) belong to Magnoliaceae (the Magnolia family). It is a tall evergreen tree that is native to south-eastern China, from Hunan east to Zhejiang. This tree grows in forests and can reach about 20 m in height. The flowers are frangrant, pure white, Magnolia-like and bloom in February. The corolla are about 10 cm acress and has nine tepals.
