The brook saxifrage (Micranthes odontoloma) belongs to Saxifragaceae (the Saxifrage family). It is a perennial herb that is native to much of western North America. This herb grows in wet meadows and stream banks, 1,500-4,000 m elevation, and it can reach about 50 cm in height. The leaves are rounded, toothed, or scalloped blades on long petioles. The many white flowers bloom in the branching inflorescence from summer to early fall. Each flower has five teardrop-shaped white petals with threadlike bases.
