わが国の本州、中部地方以北から北海道、それに北半球の温帯北部に分布しています。湿原や沼地などの水中に生えて、高さは５０〜１００センチほどになります。「すぎな」に似た中空の茎をもっています。６月から７月ごろ、「つくし」に似た胞子嚢を出します。中国語では「溪木賊（xi mu zei）」と呼ばれます。 |

トクサ科トクサ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Equisetum fluviatile。英名は Swamp horsetail、Water horsetail。 |

The Swamp horsetail (Equisetum fluviatile) belongs to Equisetaceae (the Horsetail family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed northward from Chubu-district of Honshu to Hokkaido in Japan and as well as the Northern Hemisphere. This herb grows in water; marshes or bogs, and can reach 50-100 cm in height. The stem is midair. The spore spikes are borne at the apex of shoot from June to July. In Chinese, it is called "溪木賊" (xi mu zei). |
