"Miyama-kurumabana" (Clinopodium macranthum) belongs to Lamiaceae (the Mint family). It is an endemic species of Japan, it is distributed from the central region of Honshu to the Tohoku region on the Sea of Japan side. This herb grows in the gravel and grasslands of the low to subalpine zones and is 10-40 cm high. The stem bends at the bottom and then rises, and it bears downward hairs. The leaves are ovate, serrated, and have hairs on both sides. The pale red flowers with a corolla length of 1.5-2 cm bloom from August to September.
