わが国の本州北部から北海道、それにサハリンやカムチャッカ半島に分布しています。山地の林内や谷間の日陰に生え、高さは６０〜１２０センチになります。葉は腎形で互生し、翼のつく長い柄があります。７月から９月ごろ、茎頂に白色の頭花を咲かせます。頭花は５〜６個の筒状花で構成されます。

キク科コウモリソウ属の多年草で、学名は Cacalia auriculata var. kamtschatica。英名はありません。

"Mimi-koumori" (Cacalia auriculata var. kamtschatica) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from northern Honshu to Hokkaido in Japan, as well as Sakhalin and the Kamchatska Peninsula. This herb grows in mountain forests and the shady places of valleys, and can reach 60-120 cm in height. The leaves are reniform and alternate with long winged petioles. The white flower-heads bloom on the tip of stems from July to September. The flower-head consists of 5-6 tubular flowers.
