The musk monkeyflower (Mimulus moschatus) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is native to western North America, from British Columbia to California to the Rocky Mountains. This herb grows in moist, partially shaded habitat in mountains, woodlands, chaparral, and can reach about 30 cm in height. It is generally musky in scent. The leaves are ovate and arranged in opposite. The yellow tubular flowers bloom from July to August.
