わが国の本州、中部地方以北から北海道、それに東北アジアに分布しています。亜高山帯から高山帯に生え、高さは１〜２メートルになります。葉は奇数羽状複葉で、楕円形の小葉が７〜１１個つきます。小葉の縁には全体に鋸歯があります。６月から７月ごろ、複散房花序をだし、白色の花を咲かせます。「たかねななかまど」の変種で、花序がほとんど下垂せず、果実もやや小さいことが特徴です。

バラ科ナナカマド属の落葉低木で、学名は Sorbus sambuchifolia var. pseudoglacilis。英名はありません。

"Miyama-nanakamado" (Sorbus sambuchifolia var. pseudoglacilis) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a small deciduous tree that is distributed northward from Chubu district of Honshu to Hokkaido in Japan, and North-eastern Asia. This tree grows in sub-alpine to alpine zone and can reach 1-2 m in height. The leaves are impari-pinnate with 7-11 elliptic leaflets. The leaflet has serrated edges entirely. The terminal compound corymbs are borne and bloom white flowers from June to July. It is a variety of "Takane-nanakamado" (Sorbus sambuchifolia ). The clusters are little or nothing drooping and the fruit is smaller than the fruits of "Takane-nanakamado".
