わが国の本州、中部地方以北から東北地方それに北海道に分布しています。高山帯の砂礫地や草地に生え、高さは５〜１５センチになります。茎には白い毛が密生します。葉は羽状複葉で、小葉はさらに羽状に深裂します。７月から８月ごろ、茎頂に紅紫色の花を総状に咲かせます。花冠の上唇の先はくちばし状に尖りません。

ゴマノハグサ科シオガマギク属の多年草で、学名は Pedicularis apodochila。英名はありません。

"Miyama-shiogama" (Pedicularis apodochila) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Chubu-district north to Tohoku-district of Honshu and Hokkaido in Japan. This herb grows in alpine screes or grasslands and can reach 5-15 cm in height. The stems are covered with dense white hairs. The leaves are pinnate compound and the leaflets are divided deep pinnately. The magenta flowers bloom in racemed cluster from July to August. The upper lip is not beak-shaped tip.
