The Silver dollar plant (Xerosicyos danguyi) belongs to Cucurbitaceae (the Gourd family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed in the southwestern part of Madagascar. The stem is cylindrical, and it climbs up other trees and plants with tendrils. The leaves are fleshy, round to elliptic, and about 5 cm in diameter. In the spring, it produces inflorescences of small yellow-green flowers. The female plants bear small fruits. It is also called "Green drum" in horticultural terms in Japan.
