わが国の各地に分布しています。やや深い山地に生え、高さは１０メートルほどになります。樹皮は黄色みを帯びた灰色で粗く、葉は３出複葉で対生します。芽吹くころの若葉は、ほのかにピンク色や赤みを帯びることがあります。５月から６月ごろ、前年枝に花を咲かせます。材は器具や薪炭に利用されます。 |

カエデ科カエデ属の落葉中高木で、学名は Acer cissifolium。英名は Ivy-leaved maple。 |

The Ivy-leaved maple (Acer cissifolium) belongs to Aceraceae (the Maple family). It is a semi-tall decidous tree that is distributed to various parts of Japan. This tree grows in a slightly deep mountainous area and is about 10 m high. The bark is yellowis gray and rough, and the leaves are trifoliate and opposite. Young leaves that are just beginning to sprout may have a faint pink or reddish tint. The flowers bloom on the previous year's twigs from May to June. The timber is used for equipments and fuelwood. |
