"Mitsuba-fuuro" (Geranium wilfordii) belongs to Geraniaceae (the Geranium family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed throughout Japan, Taiwan, the Korean Peninsula, China, and the Amur region. It grows in grasslands in mountainous areas and grows 30-80 cm tall. The base of the stem falls down and the upper part rises up. From July to October, the peduncle extends from the leaf axils and produces pale reddish-purple flowers. It is called "老鸛草" in Taiwan Chinese and "老鸛草" (lao guan cao) in Chinese.
