ジンチョウゲ科ミツマタ属の落葉低木で、学名は Edgeworthia chrysantha。英名は Paper bush。
The Paper bush (Edgeworthia chrysanth) belongs to Thymelaeaceae (the Mezereum family). It is a small deciduous tree that is native to south China. This tree is a related species of Daphne, introduced into Japan in ancient days and cultivated widely nowadays, occasionally it runs wild. Paper tree has been used to Japan paper making by its fibres of bark. Japanese name "Mitsumata" is named for three-furcated branches. The photos of 4th to 6th are red-flowering cultivar "Rubra". It is called "結香" (jie xiang) in Chinese.
