スイカズラ科スイカズラ属の落葉低木で、学名は Lonicera gracilipes var. glandulosa。英名はありません。
The "Miyama-uguisu-kagura" (Lonicera gracilipes var. glandulosa) belongs to Caprifoliaceae (the Honeysuckle family). It is a small deciduous tree that is native to Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu in Japan, and mainly distributed to the Japan Sea side. This tree grows in mountains or hills and can reach about 2 m in height. It is defined by sticky glandular hairs covered on the leaves and branchlets. The leaves are obovate to elliptic and opposite. The long peduncles are borne on the axiles and bloom downward pale rose-pink flowers from April to May. The fruits ripen in red from June to July, they are sweet and edible.
