わが国の固有種で、本州の中部地方以北から北海道に分布しています。亜高山帯から高山帯に生え、高さは２０～１００センチほどになります。新しい枝は黄褐色です。葉は楕円形から倒卵形で縁には波状の鋸歯があります。葉の裏は粉白色をしています。雌雄異株で、５月から６月ごろ、葉の展開と同時に花を咲かせます。果実は蒴果で、６月から７月ごろ裂開します。別名で「みねやなぎ（峰柳）」とも呼ばれます。 |

ヤナギ科ヤナギ属の落葉低木で、学名は Salix reinii。英名はありません。 |

The "Miyama-yanagi" (Salix reinii) belongs to Salicaceae (the Willow family). It is a small deciduous tree that is an endemic species of Japan and distributed northward from Chubu district of Honshu to Hokkaido. This tree grows in subalpine to alpine zone and can reach 20-100 cm in height. The new branches are yellowish-brown. The leaves are elliptic to obovate with wavy toothed edges. The reverse sides are powdery white. It is dioecious and the flowers bloom as soon as foliation from May to June. The fruits are capsules and split open in June to July. |
