The "Miyako-zasa" (Sasa nipponica) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is a shrubby bamboo that is native to Hokkaido, the Pacific Ocean side of Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu in Japan. This bamboo grows in mountains and the slender stems are can reach 50-80 cm in height. The stems are almost never branched. The nodes are swollen spherically and the sheaths are glabrous. The leaves are 15-25 cm long and covered with dense soft hairs on the abaxial sides. The 4th photo shows a type of bamboo called "ito-zasa" that grows to about 30 cm in height and covers Ushigashigahara in Odaigahara, Nara Prefecture. There is a possibility that "Sendai-zasa" (Sasa chartacea) is mixed in with the photos.
