もみじいちご (紅葉苺)

わが国の本州、中部地方以北から北海道の一部に分布しています。東日本では、山野にふつうに見られます。葉は「もみじ」のように３〜５中裂し、縁には粗い欠刻と鋸歯があります。葉柄には、かぎ状の棘があります。３月から５月ごろ、白い５弁花を下向きに咲かせます。夏には美味しい果実が、橙黄色に熟します。 |

バラ科キイチゴ属の落葉低木で、学名は Rubus palmatus var. coptophyllus。英名はありません。 |

"Momiji-ichigo" (Rubus palmatus var. coptophyllus) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a small deciduous tree that is native to northward from Chubu district of Honshu to a part of Hokkaido in Japan. This tree can be found usually in eastern Japan. The leaves are divided into 3-5 lobes palmately with coarse indentations and teeth. The petioles have hooked spines. It blooms discending white flowers come in March to May. The fruits are sweet and ripen orange-yellow in summer. |
