中国やインドが原産の「むくげ（木槿）」の園芸品種です。高さは２〜３メートルになります。花はラベンダー色のアネモネ咲き（半八重）です。イギリスのローデリック・ウッズ（Roderick Woods）博士によって作出されました。

アオイ科フヨウ属の落葉低木で、学名は Hibiscus syriacus cv. Lavender Chiffon。英名は Rose of Sharon 'Lavender Chiffon'。

The Rose of Sharon 'Lavender Chiffon' (Hibiscus syriacus cv. Lavender Chiffon) belongs to Malvaceae (the Mallow family). It is a small deciduous tree that is a horticultural variety of "Rose of Sharon", which is native to China and India. It grows 2 to 3 m tall. The flowers are lavender semi-double. It was created by Dr. Roderick Woods in England.
