ステノグロッティス属は南アフリカからタンザニアにかけて分布しています。属には４種ありますが、そのすべてが南アフリカに存在します。林床の岩の上や樹木の幹、ときおり地上にも着生します。花期は春または夏です。山野草として流通しているこの「むれちどり」は、南アフリカ東部に分布する「フィンブリアータ種（Stenoglottis fimbriata）」と「ロンギフォリア種（Stenoglottis longifolia）」との種間交雑種です。 |

The genus Stenogrottis is distributed from South Africa to Tanzania. There are four species in the genus, all of which exist in South Africa. This herb grows on rocks on the forest floor, on tree trunks, and occasionally on the ground. The flowering season is spring or summer. This "Mure-chidori", which is distributed as a wild plant, is an interspecific hybrid between "Stenoglottis fimbriata" and "Stenoglottis longifolia" distributed in eastern South Africa. |
